I really love subscription boxes. LookFantastic in particular, since it is one of the few beauty boxes that ship to Cyprus and it is inexpensive. That being said… it is getting really annoying to get all my boxes at the end of the month! Come on, it is not possible to ship at the 2nd of the month and arrive at my doorstep at the 27th, is it???
Putting all negativity aside, once I actually got the box, I was happy with the contents. The theme for October was “Indulge Me” which I think is appropriate for this season; everyone enjoys some pamper time as the weather changes and becomes colder.
This is by far my favourite product of the box. I love facial oils, especially in the winter, and Monu is a brand I always enjoy using. This deluxe sample is 30ml, I am sure it will take a good while until it runs out.
The Fiji Facial Oil contains Hazelnut Oil, Rose Oil (that has amazing results on my skin), and Patchouli Oil. I would prefer if the smell was a little more rose and less patchouli, but overall, I like it. It claims to tone and firm tired and dehydrated skin, which is exactly what I need right now. Good choice LookFantastic!!
The next product is an exfoliating facial treatment by Lancer. It feels very luxurious and I will definitely use it, but even if it is the perfect exfoliator, I don’t think that I would ever spend 70 euros for something like this. I guess that’s the beauty of a subscription box; it gives you the opportunity to try products that you otherwise wouldn’t even dream of purchasing.
This coffee body scrub is perfect for me, as the caffeine will help in simulate the blood flow and hopefully reduce the appearance of cellulite which is one of my concerns. Having said that, I was not really impressed with the previous body scrub included in a LookFantastic box (Coconut Cranberry Body Scrub by Scrub Love included in May’s box). I am hoping that this one will be better.
I admit, I have tried lots and lots of different masks in the past, but never a hand mask. As a person who always carries a hand cream with me for fear that my hands will get dry; this product certainly intrigues me. I will save this to be used in the winter months when my hands are in more need of hydration.
Ciate is a brand that I had always associated with nails. Lately, I have been hearing a lot about their makeup, but didn’t get a chance to try anything myself yet. I was very happy to see the inclusion of their Wonderwand mascara included in the box. It is a mini mascara, but in my experience full sized mascaras and minis last almost the same amount of time (you are supposed to throw it away after 3 months anyway) so it doesn’t really bother me.
ModelCo is a brand that appears so often in subscription boxes that I feel that I have tried most of their range without buying any of their products. That, in combination with the fact that I have 3 unopened concealers waiting for me to try them, makes this my least favourite product of this box.
In general, I believe that the products included in this month’s box reflect the theme and I will use every single one of them… well…. eventually for some of them. The only thing that I would change is the inclusion of the ModelCo concealer. I would possibly replace it with a face mask, as I believe it would be more fitting to the theme.
Overall, I consider this box a success for me. What did you think of this month’s box? Have you tried before any of the products included? Let me know in the comments below.
