I was sceptical when I got this. I am generally not a fan of rollerball packaging for eye moisturizers but it was the free item of my order so I decided to give it a try having an open mind.
The mistake that I made initially, was that I thought this was a moisturizer. 24K Eye Elixir does a lot of things but providing moisture is not one of them. I quickly found out that using this alone left my skin as dry as a desert. I realised that this was meant to be used in a similar way as a face serum, in the sense that it has a potent formula targeting a specific concern and it gets applied under a moisturizer. When I started using it in combination with an eye cream I started to really see why it is a best-seller product from Pixi’s skincare range.
The purpose of the Eye Elixir is to smooth fine lines, reduce puffiness and eliminate signs of fatigue. I cannot comment of the puffiness part because I never had that particular problem. However, I did have a compliment that I looked refreshed and well rested on a day that I had only 3 hours of sleep so I think it is safe to say it is working.
Using this product hasn’t changed my mind about rollerball packaging. While I understand why such a product would come in this packaging and the how it would help with puffiness, I believe that pulling on the skin with a ball is counter-productive for a product that is supposed to combat fine lines. I will say though, that for a rollerball, it is one of the good ones. It doesn’t pull too much on the skin, a steady amount of product comes out and the formula feels cooling and refreshing.
I would definitely recommend the 24K Eye Elixir for someone trying to revive tired eyes and doesn’t mind doing an extra step in their skincare routine.
